I was looking for new SGA stories, or at least stories I hadn't read for awhile and I came across the Treading Water series by Reflex. I had read them over a year ago, but re-read them this past weekend. I think they are quite well written and I enjoyed them very much. These are gen, but they present a strong John/Rodney friendship. I think they could almost be read as preslash, but I'm not sure the author meant to suggest that at all. My slash goggles are pretty firmly affixed at this point. :) Lots of other SGA characters, action/adventure, risk, hurt/comfort and more. These are longer stories, which made me very happy.
The series is made up of three stories:
Treading Water: Drowning had never been a fear Rodney needed to embrace. Trust, relying on others, and having to betray his own secrets, however, was something that kept him awake at night.

Still Waters: When Rodney was ten his family abandoned him in the Canadian wilderness with strangers. He didn't want to be with them. He didn't like them. But maybe...he needed them. (my note: this is a back story, mostly to Treading Water, but will be helpful when reading Lost at Sea. Also, please note the warning.)

Lost at Sea: A concerned/possibly injured Sheppard, a panicky/injured/possibly lost Rodney, Radek trying to keep Sheppard together, Lorne trying to keep everything else together, and Atlantis trying to fall apart. (my note: this was co-written with Laryn)
